weltenburg monastery + brewery since 1050

we like to discover the country wherever we are, you know? thus we left the highway on our way home from franconia and visited the weltenburg monastery in lower bavaria (niederbayern). why? hmmm, probably because of the good weather and because of beer advertisement. the weltenburg brewery claims to be the oldest monastery brewery in the world, originated in 1050. however, we have spent a nice afternoon at the danube river and liked the dark beer (made from fresh danube water?) => enjoy few pictures :-)

ps: if you asked me, this monastery is a highly commercial place where tourists are supposed to leave a lot of money similar to andechs monastery, but it is worth to visit anyway :-)
